Getting married or having a marriage blessing at St Mary at Latton
A wedding is one of life's great events. It is a time of solemn commitment, of celebration and of new beginnings. At Latton we are glad to be able to contribute to such an occasion. In the Bible, we read how Jesus Himself blessed a marriage with His presence, at Cana in Galilee. By coming to church to get married, the bride and groom seek the blessing of God on their married life together.
If you would like to get married in church, come along one Sunday morning to our 9.45am service, and speak to the priest at the end of the service. She will then make an appointment to see you to talk through all the details.
Normally, you are only permitted to marry here if one of you lives within the parish boundary. However, under new regulations, you will also qualify if you have a past link with the parish - for example if your parents were married at the church.
Do please contact the priest to discuss the possibility of getting married here, or look at the Church of England web page for details. You also qualify if you are baptised and have worshipped at Latton for six months. You need to be over 18 to marry (you can still get married if you are 16 or 17 but you need to have parent/guardian consent).
Wedding fees at Latton will vary according to your requirements. If you budget for about £650, this should cover most things such as your 'statutory'/diocesan fees, organist, bells, choir, flowers, etc.

If you are already married, then you may like to have your marriage blessed here. There are no special legal requirements to fulfil for this.
