St John Ambulance

St John’s Ambulance - Over 900 years of service to Humanity

Some of the members of our church at Latton are members of St John Ambulance and lead local training in Harlow. St John Ambulance teaches people first aid , about 800,000 last year alone , so that they can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved. They would love to have you join them. Once a year they hold a special enrolment service and award ceremony in our church.

St John Ambulance

St John Ambulance is an organisation where you learn new skills, make new friends and have fun while you do it.

At Harlow Nursing Cadet Division we offer the best first aid training and in addition cadets can also choose from over 70 subjects to help them develop their knowledge and skills while undertaking their ‘Grand Prior Award’. (After completing eight Cadet subjects you receive your bronze award, a further eight subjects your silver award, four additional subjects your gold award, and four more to receive your Grand Prior Award.)

Subjects cover a wide range from learning about the origins of St John Ambulance in the Crusades, or Kayaking on the River Stort, to learning how to communicate using radios.

After completing basic training, you have the opportunity to provide first aid cover at public events. And then after completing further first aid training you have the opportunity to teach first aid to others.
